NESST Tukang Dormitory, our first dormitory, is scheduled to be operational by Q1 2026. NESST Sengkang West Dormitory, our second dormitory, is expected to be ready in the second half of 2028.
NESST Tukang Dormitory will include these features:
- Enhanced living environments – Rooms with occupancy capped at 12 residents, improved natural ventilation and comfortable communal facilities.
- Modular units: Designed for increased privacy, security, and adaptability for infection prevention and control.
- Recreational spaces: Larger indoor and outdoor recreational spaces such as sports courts, cricket pitch with two practice lanes, gym and multi-purpose rooms. These recreation spaces can also be repurposed for medical or healthcare facilities during future disease outbreaks.
NESST Dormitories are built according to the enhanced dormitory standards set out by the Ministry of Manpower (MOM). Designed to be more pandemic-resilient, the dormitories include convertible swing spaces to allow for quick reaction to address medical and healthcare needs during a pandemic. To foster a sense of community among the residents, programmes will be co-developed with industry and community partners so that services to enhance well-being of our residents can be better supported and integrated at the dormitory.
NESST will work with partners to introduce practical innovations in areas of:
- Enhancing the user experience in migrant worker housing through improvements in living spaces, operations, and technology.
- Improving quality of life by focusing on health, safety, and pandemic readiness.
- Developing dormitory management practices that enhance MWs’ health-seeking behaviour, including physical and mental well-being.
