NESST Tukang Dormitory Opening in Feb 2026
Welcoming, Assuring, Supportive - A Better Home Now, Pioneering the Dream for the Future
Set to be operational by Feb 2026, the NESST Tukang Dormitory, located at Tukang Innovation Lane, marks a significant milestone as Ministry of Manpower’s first Purpose-Built Dormitory (PBD) operated by NESST Singapore Limited. This pioneering project represents a commitment in setting new benchmarks and shaping standards for migrant worker housing for the future.

Rooms Designed for Comfort and Safety
Each room at Tukang Dormitory is built to meet the enhanced standards for migrant worker dormitories, accommodating up to 12 residents and 4.2 sqm per person. The rooms feature natural cross-ventilation, enhancing comfort and airflow. Ensuite toilet, showers and laundry drying area provide greater privacy and ownership while reducing intermixing across rooms, a key feature for minimizing contact during potential disease outbreaks.

Convenient and Spacious Kitchens on Every Floor
Kitchens are strategically located on every resident floor, with each kitchen serving up to 120 residents. Designed for efficiency and comfort, each kitchen offers dedicated workstations for every room. The layout maximizes space while ensuring safety, optimal natural ventilation, pandemic-proofing and enhancing the overall user experience.

Centralised Courtyard Integrated With Open-concept Gym
The centralized courtyard is designed to cater to residents' diverse recreational needs, featuring multi-purpose sports courts and green spaces with a low-maintenance planting palette reminiscent of familiar native flora. An open-concept gym, extending seamlessly from the courtyard, optimizes natural ventilation to help reduce viral transmission risks. This layout allows gym-goers to enjoy workouts surrounded by greenery, enhancing the overall fitness experience.

Public Commercial Space
The commercial space at Tukang Dormitory will be open to the public, catering not only to residents but also addressing the needs of other migrant workers in the surrounding Tukang area. This ensures convenient access to essential services and amenities for the wider community.Â

Versatile Open Void Deck at North Block
The open void deck at the entrance of the North Block offers a flexible space for both individual and communal activities. It can be used to host festivities and events or easily repurposed for pandemic exercises, providing a dynamic area that adapts to various needs.

Dedicated Isolation Facilties
To safeguard residents' health and well-being, permanent isolation facilities are designed to remain separate from common areas, ensuring effective segregation. This dedicated space enhances safety by minimizing cross-contamination risks and supporting a healthier living environment for all.
